Kirkcudbright Galleries will open its doors to the public for the first time on Saturday, 9th June. As well as the permanent exhibition on the ground floor, which will tell the story of Kirkcudbright’s artistic heritage from its beginnings with the famous Faed family from Gatehouse-of-Fleet to the present day, there will be an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions and events as described below:

40 Years of WASPS studios

Saturday, 9th June to Sunday, 15th July 2018

Gallery Two, first floor

A contemporary exhibition with a huge variety of works, represent 54 artists based in WASPS studios located across Scotland.

Monarch of the Glen

Saturday, 9th June to Tuesday, 26th June 2018

Gallery One, ground floor

A solo painting exhibition featuring Sir Edwin Landseer’s iconic Monarch of the Glen. The painting has been lent by the National Galleries Scotland, and will be accompanied by events and activities throughout its display.
