Volunteering Opportunities at Kirkcudbright Galleries

Are you interested in engaging with visitors to the Kirkcudbright Galleries, letting them know about the wide variety of artists and artistic styles of those who made Kirkcudbrightshire their home, either in the summer months, or permanently, during the 19th and 20th centuries and up to the present day?

The gallery staff are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping them connect visitors to the rich artistic heritage of Kirkcudbrightshire. If you like working with people and enjoy sharing your love of our local artistic heritage, they would be delighted to hear from you.

Volunteers will be supported through free training, which will focus on the collections of Kirkcudbright Galleries, the temporary exhibition programme of both historic and contemporary art and the Galleries’ programme of events and activities. Volunteers will also be encouraged to develop their own particular interests and skills, perhaps to the extent of leading specialist tours or running practical art activities, to enable Kirkcudbright Galleries to further engage with its audiences.
